There are 42 schools in the Round Rock Independent School district and not a single one received an unacceptable rating from the TEA. Round Rock was also named the second fastest growing city in the United States in 2009.

Originally named Brushy Creek, Round Rock was formed in 1851 on the banks of Brushy Creek with the name by which it is now known adopted by residents in 1854.
