Quality work
Quality service, but they took a while to get to me. Esperza worked on my car, and he was knowledgeable and worked fast. Overall, very professional and quality service, just ask how long until they reach you!
Known as the Sausage Capitol of Texas and the Brick Capitol of the Southwest, Elgin's northern land is primarily black land prairie soil which is perfect for growing cotton and corn. It gets its title as the Brick Capitol of the Southwest thanks to its two currently operating brickyards. There was a third throughout most of the 20th century that is now closed. And the Sausage Capitol is, of course, from the well known Elgin Sausage Company.
Elgin lies twenty-eight miles to the east of Austin, Texas and seventeen miles north of Bastrop. Although the majority of the city is in Bastrop County, there is a small part that extends into Travis County. The city is situated at the intersection of State Highway 95 and U.S. Highway 290 and residents fall under the 78621 zip code with 512 as their area code.
Had it not been for a severe flood of the Colorado River that deterred plans to run a railway from McDade to Austin in 1869, Elgin may never have come to be the city it is today. Because of the flood, the railway route ran through Elgin instead. The Glasscock flag stop was established at this time although it was later renamed Elgin after the railroad's land commissioner in 1872, and thus, the City of Elgin was born.
