Bordered by Glenwood, Frankfort, Dyer, and Steger, Chicago Heights, Illinois sits on the crossroads of Illinois Route 1, or Dixie Highway, and US Route 30, or Lincoln Highway. Because of this positioning, Chicago Heights is often referred to as the Crossroads of a Nation. As of the 2005 census, the estimated population of the city was nearly 31,400 people and residents fall under three different zip codes – 60411, 60412 and 60413.

Settled for the first time in 1883, Chicago Heights is a city in Cook County, Illinois that is also known as Mini Chi-Town and Chi-Heights. With many notable athletes from a wide array of sports, Chicago Heights, IL is well known for its rich athletic culture.

Absalom Wells was the first European settler to take residence in Chicago Heights when he built his log cabin in the area in 1833. He chose to build his cabin where the Vincennes Trail met Thorn Creek but he moved to the area which would later become Chicago Road a short time later.

The Vincennes Trail would later house Chicago Heights' first permanent settlers, Adam and Phoebe Brown, who built an inn where the trail met the Sauk Trail. A church and a school followed in 1836 and 1843 respectively, following the arrival of a large group of Irish settlers in 1835. At this point, Chicago Heights was still called Thorn Grove, but was renamed Bloom in 1853 and finally, Chicago Heights in 1892.

Today, Chicago Heights, IL is a growing city with excellent healthcare and a strong education system.
